First National Matches Gifts
for Double Your Donation Day
Cookeville, Tenn. – The Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation began a new annual tradition this year with the “Double Your Donation Day” on December 9. All gifts made to the Foundation on that day were matched dollar for dollar by sponsors, including First National Bank. The 2014 Double Your Donation Day raised $15,345 from individual donors for a total of $30,690 with matching funds. One hundred percent of these funds will be used to provide charitable programs and services for patients in need right here in our community.
First National Bank pledged $5,000 of matching funds in support of the Foundation’s Double Your Donation Day. Additional sponsors included the Foundation’s Board of Governors and a pool of anonymous donors.
“First National is committed to giving back to our community and we believe that the Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation does a great job helping local patients in-need,” said Larry Garrett of First National Bank in Cookeville. “Providing matching funds for Double Your Donation Day was our way of encouraging others in the community to follow our example and support the Foundation. We are happy that so many in our community responded to the call-for-action on this special day, and we are pleased to provide a matching donation to the Foundation for $5,000 to help our neighbors suffering with sickness, disease or injury this holiday season.”
“On behalf of the hundreds of local patients who will benefit from gifts collected through Double Your Donation Day, thank you!” said John Bell, Director of the Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation. “The Foundation is grateful to First National Bank, our anonymous matching sponsors, and everyone who made a donation to the Foundation on Double Your Donation Day. Your gift helps us heal. Thank you again.”
