The Pink Gala is changing.... a new location, a new look, a new time. Come celebrate the 9th annual Gala on April 22, 2017 at the Saltbox Inn. Proceeds benefit the Pink Ribbon Program, and will provide mammograms to women in our community who would otherwise not be able to afford one on their own. The Gala is a black-tie event. Cocktail hour 6 pm. Dinner 7pm. Enjoy live music, dancing and fine dining.

Because of past support from caring donors, the Pink Ribbon of Hope Save-A-Life Mammogram Project has reached thousands of underserved women throughout the Upper Cumberland; teaching them about breast-health and giving them access to free screening-diagnostic mammograms. The Pink Gala is our main fundraiser for this effort to offer life-saving screenings to underserved women in our community.
Mammograms can detect cancer in its early stages, when it is most treatable. Since the 1990s mammograms have helped to reduce the mortality rate of breast cancer by about 32 percent. That is one out of three moms, sisters, wives and daughters who remain with us, largely due to early detection found through a mammogram. Yet there are large groups of women in our community who do not take advantage of this life-saving screening. Uninsured, minority and rural women have disproportionate access to screenings and generally less of an understanding of the importance of being screened.
